United Methodist Women at FUMC
The purpose of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

The United Methodist Women (UMW) of FUMC is actively serving our community, and is always seeking new members. We are working toward being a Mission Today unit, a goal set by the National UMW. We have six active circles, each one with a service agency they help support each year. This support may be through gifts of money, other needed items, or both.

Each circle meets once a month, except in July and August.

  • Hannah-Rebecca Circle meets the fourth Thursday of each month at 1:30 PM. Their service agency is A Woman’s Place.
  • Lydia Circle meets the third Monday evening. Their service agency is Colorado High School.
  • Mary-Martha Circle meets the fourth Thursday morning. Their service agency is A Kid’s Place.
  • Miriam Circle meets the fourth Thursday morning. Their service agency is Centennial Development Center.

We also sponsor Leah circle at Bonell Good Samaritan Center. It is a circle composed of ‘Associate’    members who can no longer actively participate. The six active circles and the administrative board take turns monthly providing them with a program and refreshments. This circle is also open to anyone else at  Bonell who wishes to join us. We also provide our community with Sewing of Service. Sewing for Service is a group of hard working women who donate quilts and infant layettes to various community efforts, which include Habitat for Humanity, various shelters, several preschools, and children’s programs.
